Our Club

Gisborne Archery Club was formed in 1942 and has been a fixture of Disraeli Street since 1970.

We welcome anyone, no matter your ability. We have found over time that if you would like to do archery, we can find a way.

The club offers coaching and training sessions for beginners with qualified coaches, as well as advanced coaching for more experienced archers looking to improve their skills.

We have a really good crew of archers of all ages who enjoy relaxed and competitive shooting.

The Gisborne Archery club was formed in 1942, during the war years by the rifle club because ammunition became unavailable and the members wanted to carry on shooting.
The Archery Club separated out from the Rifle Club and grew into their own strengths.
The indoor range opened on Disraeli Street. The opening was a result of 10 years of work led by Jim Burton, and was purpose-built for archery.
The club has had many archers represent New Zealand including one archer and one coach at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India.
Our club is affiliated to both Archery NZ and Eastern Central Bay of Plenty Archery Association and continues to thrive. We welcome anyone!
